I BY spells had been beguiled 
To a marish country wild, 
Where a lonely hearted child 
Crossed me ; and I felt she knew 
All the way she wandered through, 
Though the reeds around her blew, 
And the dusk was in her rear, 
As I watched her disappear 
'Mid the flitting umbrage drear.
